Helping Children Grow Into Confident Learners
Learning doesn’t have to look like school.
At Seeds of Play, I support parents who want their children to learn with confidence, curiosity and joy – whether they’re homeschooling, navigating learning challenges, or simply looking for a more meaningful way to support learning at home.
Through play-informed learning, practical parent support and engaging workshops, I help families understand how children learn best and discover ways to make learning feel more connected, purposeful and enjoyable.
Your child is more than a grade, a reading level of a report card.
Sometimes children need more than another worksheet or another reminder to try harder.
They may need movement.
They may need connection,
They may need learning to feel relevant.
They may need to experience success again.
Or they may simply need an adult to pause and ask:
“What is my child telling me about how they learn?”
My goal is to help parents see the learner behind the behaviour, understand what supports their child, and create opportunities for children to build both skills and confidence.

“It’s an absolute privilege to have Tess not only as a friend but also as someone I trust to care for my children while I work. She has a deeply nurturing nature and a genuine passion for ongoing self-education, always seeking to understand and apply best practices in child development. Tess has a unique ability to see each child holistically, appreciating their individual strengths and supporting them with compassion and insight. She embodies the warmth, presence, and joy of a loving mother combined with the thoughtfulness and creativity of a dedicated educator. I recommend her wholeheartedly.”

Meet Tess

I’m Tess – a registered primary school teacher, homeschool mum, tutor, passionate advocate for learning through play and the founder of Seeds of Play.
I believe children are capable, curious learners, and that learning can happen in many different ways. My work is about helping families find approaches that support both learning and the child behind it.
Through Seeds of Play, I support families to plant the seeds of learning through play, creating rhythms and routines that work for real life.
